Day 3

Ilulissat (disco Bay) Greenland

Within the popular Disko Bay sits Ilulissat (Greenlandic for "icebergs") and its UNESCO-listed Icefjord. The image of pure white, monolithic icebergs surrounding the colorful houses of the town invites you to traverse these wondrous lands. You may find an opportunity to kayak amid the icebergs as the Midnight Sun sits on the horizon, appearing as an eternal sunset. Navigating Disko Bay, Greenland’s largest bay, you’re likely to catch sight of a beluga or bowhead whale, or perhaps even a narwhal. You can see them up close sitting just 30 feet above the waterline from Water’s Edge while keeping warm with heated seating..

Eqi Glacier (Disko Bay), Greenland

Nestled in Greenland’s iconic Disko Bay, Eqi Glacier captivates with its striking blue ice shelves. Known as the Calving Glacier for its frequent activity, visitors often witness massive chunks of ice crashing into the water with thunderous cracks. Located just 50 miles north of Ilulissat, the glacier is surrounded by towering icebergs, creating an unforgettable Arctic scene.

Nuuk, Greenland

Nestled within its namesake fjord, Nuuk is renowned for its humpback whales, waterfalls, and icebergs. This unique city offers a striking mix of rugged mountains and backcountry on one side and a lively metropolitan vibe on the other, complete with exceptional dining, museums, and boutiques.

For adventure seekers, activities like hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding abound. Don’t miss Katuaq Cultural Center, a stunning architectural masterpiece inspired by the Aurora Borealis. You might even catch and enjoy fresh cod or redfish prepared at the gourmet restaurant Qooqqut Nuan.

Arsuk, Greenland

Nestled in the Sermersooq municipality, Arsuk, meaning "the beloved place" in Greenlandic, offers stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Spot Arctic birds like snowy owls and kittiwakes as you explore the area’s breathtaking landscapes, including the cascading Arsuk Fjord Waterfall and the striking blue ice shelves of the Arsuk Glacier.

A Zodiac safari can bring you closer to icebergs and the icy waters surrounding this picturesque village. Stroll through town to learn about the Saqqaq culture and traditions cherished by the locals.

Day 8

Prince Christian Sound – Captain’s Choice

Stretching along Greenland’s southern edge, Prince Christian Sound, or Prins Christian Sund, offers a breathtaking journey through snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and drifting icebergs. This stunning waterway may include a visit to the tiny village of Aappilattoq, where fewer than 100 residents live in colorful Nordic-style houses of red, yellow, and blue.

The sound is teeming with wildlife, with chances to spot fin, minke, and blue whales, along with bearded and ringed seals.
